Ubu is a character of fiction created by the French writer Alfred Jarry: François Ubu , known as the Father Ubu , captain of dragons, officer of confidence of the king Venceslas, decorated about the red eagle with Poland, former king of Aragon, count de Sandomir; then king of Poland, pataphysic doctor in “, and large-Master of the Order of Gidouille.
The Ubu Father forged his personality from that of Mr Hébert, professor of Physique to the college of Rennes. Its pupils were accustomed to inventing to him rocambolesques adventures under the name of the P.H. (Hébert Father). Jarry began again on its account and developed the potachic tradition with the point to be identified itself with its character. On the end of its life it signed Ubu .
