UTF-32 is a coding of the characters defined by Unicode where each character is coded on a word of 32 bits.

Coding was defined in appendix 19 to the Unicode standard. Since, the appendix became obsolete, because UTF-32 forms integral part of the Unicode standard, in its chapter 3 Conformance where it is defined in a very strict way.
