History
Founded in 1894, United Sport Club, “English” club including/understanding only two French (Conchon and Deleclerc) in its rows, joined the championship of the U.S.F.S.A. as of its 2nd edition, in 1894-95.
The U.S.C., with the colors semi-blue marinades, semi-blue sky, settles since 1894 at the stage of the Dauphine Door, old stronghold of the Standard A.C. It is precisely the Standard which corrects United 13-0 with the first turn of the championship 1895.
Eighth on nine of the championship USFSA in 1896, United progresses and hangs the 3rd place in 1900. From now on reinforced by the presence of the Wynn brothers, old of the Standard, the U.S.C disputes the title with the Racing Club of France in 1902. A match of stopping is necessary to decide between the two formations, with equality at the conclusion of the regular season. It is the Racing which is essential, 2-0.
In 1904, it is finally the dedication with the championship of Paris, after the profit of the Cut Sheriff Dewar 1903. Crushing Sézanne (8-0) then the Olympic of Marseilles (4-0), the U.S.C disputes the national title with the double champion of France in title: R.C. Roubaix. Although leading very quickly to the score (2-0), the Parisian ones must incline 4-2 vis-a-vis terrible Roubaisiens.
Following this triumph, Eugene Nicolai honors with the selections in team of France, before joining the French Stade.
The results are then less glorious, even if United manages to be maintained in first Parisian series. In 1906, amalgamating with the F.C. Switzerland, to strong Swiss coloring as its name indicates it, United Sport Club moults itself in Swiss Sporting union.
Wearied by the attitude of the USFSA, recently excluded from the FIFA, four clubs whose U.S. Switzerland found the L.F.A. in 1910. The Swiss ones behave there well without never however gaining the title.
Quarter of finalist of the Coupe de France in 1921 and 27, 8th of finalist in 1918, 25 and 26, 16th of finalist in 1922, 23,24 and 28, and 32e of finalist in 1919, 29,31 and 32, the U.S. Switzerland is one of the most prestigious Parisian clubs of the inter-war period, holding Juventus of Turin in failure (0-0) in 1923.
Triple confrontation (2-2, 3-3, 5-3) vis-a-vis Sète in eighth of finale of the Coupe de France 1926, unfavourable to Swiss, is followed by an enthusiastic crowd. Since its installation with the Gilded Door, the U.S.S. records excellent multitudes indeed. However, since 1930, a clear fall is noted.
In spite of these harbingers of a delicate future for football pro in Paris, the U.S.S. of president Carlos Miedermann crosses the rubicon in 1933. But, the adventure turns short. The U.S. Switzerland indeed throws sponge in the course of season 1933-34, after sixteen defeats, two null and a victory… The U.S.S. gives up the rows pro the shortly after a meeting vis-a-vis Rouen which gathers some 3.000 spectators.
The failure pro weighs very heavily on the perenniality of the club which succeeds in all the same continuing its activities, until our days, in a total discretion…
