Historical reference marks

For the Albigensians, the local club is US Albi or, some times, simply the US one. It is around 1911 that was born the U.S.A., but it is during season 1912-1913 that this club was to leave anonymity by obtaining the championship of the Pyrenees.

The war was to temporarily put a term at the activity of the U.S.A. and, even after the armistice of 1918, the few high-school pupils who practiced football, did it without taking share with the championship.

It is only into 1925 that this club was to really reappear under the impulse of Metge, helped of his/her comrade Marcel Mirabel, with like first President Mr. Joseph Gauthier.

In 1932, the U.S.A. became a club omnisport, but in 1939 it is again the war. All the Albigensian clubs were to group in 1940, under the label of Albi Olympique. Football will inherit many refugees of North and the East, and will know various fortunes until 1952. At this point in time Mr. Robert Heim succeeds in interesting Misters Haas and Réveillon which gave to the round ball a rise which will make it possible the U.S. Albi to become a large club. 8th of finale of cut of France 2005. Albi (CFA) - Sochaux (L1): 0-3. Albigensians having in particular eliminated Bayonne (National), Troyes and Angers (L2).
