Anecdotes
For the needs for turning, the workshops of the RATVM (Governed Transport of Marseilles) recreated a trolley bus ELR starting from a bus PLR; they grafted to him poles and all the accessories and decorations of a genuine trolley bus of the network (it carries N°277). Indeed for needs for safety in the course of turning, it was necessary to cut the power supply of the air lines of contact. (source Marc Bargier: " Marseilles trolley bus: 100 years of bifilaires" - editions Alan Sutton) One can see at the time of a plan, with the stop with red light, the trolley bus seen of behind which releases a thick blue smoke. .normal for Berlier PLR driven by a diesel engine but for one not supposed trolley bus.
