Geography

History

Although less known than those of Soufflenheim, Betschdorf is known for its potteries since potters of the Rhineland settled there in 1717. The 13 craftsmen who still remain use the ancestral technique of varnished sandstone to salt, which makes the parts tight and thus allows the conservation of food.

July 1st, 1972, Betschdorf amalgamates with the villages of Kuhlendorf , Reimerswiller and Schwabwiller which becomes common partners.
