UNIT YOUNG STAG

UNIT YOUNG STAG is a American trade union with the the United States and Canada, member of Change to Win.

It was founded in 2004 by the fusion of the trade unions Union off Needletrades, Industrial, and Textile Employees (UNIT) and Hotel Employed and Restaurant Employed Union (YOUNG STAG). Chaired by Bruce S. Raynor, the trade union counts approximately 440 000 members, mainly in the Hotel trade, the restoration, the Clothes industry - Textile, the Laundry, the Delivery and plays.

Bruce S. Raynor is the former president of UNIT. John L. Wilhelm, the former president of YOUNG STAG, directs the hospital branch. The former vice-president of YOUNG STAG is the treasurer.

In hotel trade

UNIT YOUNG STAG is known for its trade-union combat in the sector traditionally badly paid of hotel trade. UNIT YOUNG STAG supports the trade-union recognition campaigns to obtain agreements of Card check recognition with the management of the firm when this one rejects it.

In 2006, large collective agreements expires simultaneously with Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Honolulu and Chicago letting foresee the possibility of a Grève concerted to improve the rights of the employees. Under the crook of Mike Casey, UNIT YOUNG STAG fights for its recognition in bay of San Francisco, where the employees are private of collective agreement since 2004.

Since 1987, the teachers of Yale University, initially with YOUNG STAG then UNIT YOUNG STAG, fight for their rights. UNIT YOUNG STAG is also present in the campus by

The organization of professors de Yale is the Graduate Employees and Students Organization (GESO), affiliated with the Federation off Hospital and University Employees . At the beginning of 2006, the university always refused to recognize it.
