UEFA Cup female
The female UEFA Cup is a competition reserved for the European clubs of which the federations are recognized by UEFA is organized by this one since 2002. It is about the European competition inter-clubs of reference, the equivalent of the Ligue of the Champions of the UEFA of the men.
The Arsenal LFC is holding it of the title.
History
The idea of an UEFA Cup female germinates during the meeting of the Executive committee in Paris on May 23rd, 2000, the members submits the project of a continental competition between the football clubs female. Installation for the seasons 2001 - 2002, its success increases year by year, 33 clubs are invited to take part in the edition 2002.In six editions, the prize list shows that Europe seems dominated by two championships: the championship of Germany with three titles and Sweden with the club of Umeå IK which was essential twice finally. However, the victory of the English club of Arsenal Ladies FC at the time of the edition 2007 shows that female football opens gradually.
All the finales, except that of 2002, dispute on matches return ticket.
Trophy
One of the requirements for the design of the Trophée was to take into account the logo. On the logo, the five waves symbolize long undulating hair and the star symbolizes UEFA. The body of the trophy is a bronze bit which takes up the idea of vaguenesses of the logo.
