UCLA Bruins is a club general sports university of the the University of California to Los Angeles. The teams of Bruins take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. UCLA belongs to division Pacific Ten Conference.
The sportsmen of UCLA have excellent installations. The American footballers evolve/move in residence with the Pink Bowl while the basketball players play on the campus with the Pauley Pavilion, room of 12.829 places inaugurated in 1965. Among the most famous exploits signed by Bruins let us quote the series of 88 matches consecutive without defeat between 1971 and 1974 signed by the basketball players of UCLA. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played then (with the name of Lew Alcindor) with Bruins under the direction of the mythical trainer John Wooden.
It should be noted that the competition with their neighbor, USC Trojans, is one of the greatest competitions of the American university sport, especially with American football. That is due to the fact that there does not exist other city which acceuille two large universities like USC and UCLA. The other great competitions oppose universities of the same state or states frontier but not of the same city (Auburn/Alabama, Florida/Florida State, Michigan/Ohio State,…).
