UCB Pharma
UCB Pharma is a biopharmaceutic Belgian company specialized in the affections of the central nervous system, the respiratory allergy and diseases, the autoimmune or inflammatory diseases ansi that the oncology.
Its most known products are Keppra, an anti-epileptic, Nootropil, a product supporting cerebral operation in the elderly, Zyrtec and Xyzall (its active enantiomer), of the antihistamines used mainly against the allergic rhinitis, and especially sadly celebrates Distilbène.
In the beginning, UCB, founded in 1928, was active in the chemical sector. Its initial refers at that time and means Belgian Chemical Union. Its current CEO is Roch Doliveux. It succeeded in 2005 the baron Georges Jacobs, who directed the company of 1987 to 2005. Among the principal shareholders of UCB is the Jansen family, also shareholder of the company Solvay.
