It is born in Prussia in 1795. It fulfills the function of rabbi during several tens of years.
He is firmly opposed to the movement for the reform of the Judaïsme. Its ideas touch Moses Hess, when this last creates the " Company for the installation out of Ground of Israel " , which is moreover the first association of the Lovers of Sion installed in Germany. The Kalisher rabbi uses of his influence near the company " Kol Israel Havérim" (the Alliance Universal Jew) to promote the agricultural development in Ground of Israel, and the foundation of the village of Mikve - Israel.
He dies in 1874. The Kibbutz Tirat-Zvi, installed in the valley of Beït-Shéan, bears its name today.
