Tyrie
Tyrie is the fictitious continent where the events of the play Guild Wars Prophecies proceed.
Areas
Tyrie breaks up into several areas, where fauna and the flora are completely different according to the browsable zone where you are.
Ruins of Ascalon
Devastated, the countryside of Ascalon is nothing any more but the phantom of its last splendor. Vestiges of cathedrals and cities in ruin lie on these devastated grounds. The Grand northern rampart is perhaps the monument best preserved of all the kingdom, but the destruction and the ruin which surround it testify to its failure. Before the invasion Charr and the Furnace, Ascalon was a fertile area, glaze of corn fields and flowers. But since, it does not push any more large-thing on these abandoned grounds. The ground, formerly rich, became dry and arid. The rivers were drained and the mud was transformed into a constellation of cracked plates and scars open strewing the ground.
Mountains of Cimefroides
During millenia, the Dwarves populating this mountainous chain met behind a single flag: the nation of the Dwarf of Deldrimor. The majority of constructions of Cimefroides were built at that time, one time old witnesses of peace and prosperity. But this time is completed. Today, a wind of civil war blows on the mountains, and new constructions left ground: blocks of stone connected to each other by large steel chains delimiting the territories where a new guild was established, that one even which changed the history.Cimefroides are an inhospitable environment for that which is not prepared there. Only two known passages make it possible to cross the mountains, and to cross them implies to face the icy winds, the sudden snowstorms and the landslides due to the changes of temperature.
Kryte
The traveller will discover with surprised contrast between the polished stone fortresses of the Blanc-Manteau and the vulgar thatched cottages of the simple inhabitant. The area does not miss richnesses, but the partisans of the doctrines of the Servite adapted them, which reflects the architecture of the area.Climate on the hot and wet east coast. What is somewhat attenuated by the beautiful sand beaches white and the crystalline blue sea which sprinkles them. The temperature goes down a little inside the grounds, which makes the area particularly favourable with agriculture and the breeding. Krytiens, which does not practice the art of the magic, are generally devoted to fishing or agriculture.
The jungle of Maguuma
A long ago, of many tribes of human druids lived in the middle of the luxuriant vegetation and of the wildlife of Maguuma. But that made of the years that nobody heard any more of them, and much think that they were devoured by the hostile creatures of the jungle or were swallowed by the mangeuses plants men who push there. The heights are extremely arid, and only the largest plants and most resistant can push there. But low, when one approaches water, the vegetation becomes so dense that at certain places, the ground of the jungle touched forever by the rays of the sun.
The Crystal Desert
According to the legends, there is that of the thousands of years, the Desert of crystal was covered by water. The gods would have raised the ground, leaving it naked and unoccupied so that the solitary creatures can find refuge there. If these legends are exact, this ground was not intended for the human ones. Some tried to settle in the desert, but all without exception failed, leaving behind them only large monuments built to celebrate their short triumph on this arid ground. The climate of the desert is hot and inhospitable. The winds blow extremely, making and demolishing the dunes, dissimulating the present and revealing the past. An attentive examination of sand makes it possible to discover that it consists of tiny pointed crystals. In certain isolated places, more imposing crystal formations were updated by the constant and pitiless winds.
The Archipelago of the islands of Fire
In the south of the tarnished Coast are the volcanic islands which compose the Archipelago of the islands of fire. It is in the large volcano located at the center of the archipelago that the gods would have given up the Stones of blood before leaving Tyrie definitively. The majority of the volcanos which surround it are always in activity. The boats which pass by the archipelago say that they can still hear the noise of the ebullient lava fall into the ocean for at once transforming salt water into vapor. The reefs which surround the islands are made of black volcanic stones. There are very few natural ports where to wet the anchor, and those which exist are threatened permanently by the volcanic eruptions, which makes their exploitation extremely dangerous.
There is no colony known in the Archipelago of the islands of fire.
The Pantheon of the Heroes
In the center of the Breach, far inside the Fogs, the imposing known fortress of all under the name of the Pantheon of the Heroes is. This building is the pinnacle of Au-delĂ . When a hero dies, its heart can either be buried with the body forever, captive of the putrefied flesh and the corroded bones, or to find itself in the Breach. This honor is reserved to the rare heroes whose legendary acts are known gods themselves, and little have the right to join the hearts of the Pantheon. For a long time, the access to the Breach and the Pantheon of the Heroes was reserved to those which had left their life mortal to enter the world of the immaterial one. It was the Earth of Deaths, and there to enter cost you the life. But during the last century, all changed.
