The typewriting is the control of striking on a keyboard of Typewriter or Ordinateur, if possible without looking at this one and by using its ten fingers. The advantage of controlling the keyboard well is to write quickly and thus to save time. There exist several methods and software making it possible to accelerate its keying speed:

  • software Tap' Touches
  • software PCTap
  • Gratuiciel typist of Gerard Ledu.

Almost all the keyboards of computers have two reference marks placed on the keys F and J which must be located under both index in initial position if one makes use of all his fingers. These reference marks in relief make it possible (Re) to position its fingers on the keyboard without looking at it and while being helped only of the Toucher of the two indices. That thus makes it possible not to release the screen of the eyes and thus to remain concentrated on the characters which appear on the screen. The methods of training recommend to post at the level of the eyes, a model of keyboard (example to print). One looks at this one to be accustomed to a striking known as " with the aveugle".

On the keyboards of the Telephone S (mobile or fixes), one also finds a reference mark which is located on the key 5 , this one is obligatory since it is about a point Braille allowing the people Malvoyant are to make use of the telephones more easily.

Generally, to accelerate its keying speed, it is the practice in itself which ends up carrying its fruits.
People indicate their keying speed to the test carried out on Internet, their speeds varies from 120 to 400 Characters Per Minute (CPM). The majority indicate a speed ranging between 250 to 350 CPM.
