Tylissos (in Greek modern: Τύλισος , also Pyrgos Tylissos , Tylisos , Tylissus , Tilissos ) are a town of Crete, in Greece. Located in the center of Crete, its population is of 3941 inhabitants (census of 2001). Tylissos is also the archeological site of an old city and an old Minoan sanctuary . Pyrgos means turn in Greek. Tylissos is a name of pre-Greek origin and which one finds mentions on shelves of Linéaire B discovered with Knossos.

The site of Tylissos is excavated of 1909 to 1913 per Joseph Hadzidakis, then again of 1953 to 1955 by Nicholas Plato and in 1971 by A. Kanta. The site was occupied old Minoan II with the average Minoan II. The sanctuary was in activity at least until the recent Minoan I.
