Tygers off Side Tang

Tygers off Pantang is a group of Heavy traditional metal related with the New wave off british heavy metal.

Originating in the North-East of the England, the group was rather quickly signed by the label Neat Records then joined MCA, which published their first album Wild Cat in 1980. John Sykes then joined the group like second guitarist. Jess Cox was then replaced by the singer Jon Deverill (ex- Persian Risk); the group did not lose there with the exchange. This formation recorded Spellbound in 1981.

After the third opus Crazy Nignts , Sykes left the group and was replaced promptly by the ex-guitarist of Penetration Fred Purser, which had only two days to learn the pieces of the group before a departure in round.

The fourth album The Cage is regarded as most accomplished and the future of the group was announced radiant. Alas, because of a dissension with MCA, the group was thorough to separate.

On his side, John Sykes found a great success with Thin Lizzy then Whitesnake.
