Dario Argento wanted at the beginning to make a collaboratif project between four realizers: itself, George A. Romero, John Carpenter, like Wes Craven. Carpenter and Craven not being interested, Argento and Romero decided to turn each one their own segment.
Adrienne Barbel, Tom Atkins and E.G. Marshall had already turned under the direction of Romero in Creepshow (1982).
the special effects are the work of Tom Savini, which had already worked with Romero on Martin (1977), the Day of death-alive the (1985) or Mishap (1989), like with Argento on Trauma (1993).

Nomination at the price of best film left in video, by the Academy of horror and science fiction films, fantastic in 1993.
