The two-tone shrew ( Crocidura leucodon ) is a Insectivore of the family of the Soricidae.

It is an animal lengthened with the fine head with the pointed muzzle. The teeth are white. Peeling is reddish on the back, paler under the belly. The tail presents long hairs blanchâtres.

Biology

It is a mainly night species, activates all the year, of the broussailleux and dry places. The young shrews can move with the tail leu leu. Food mode containing insects, of spiders, gastropods, worms or small vertebrate. It consumes also some fruits.

Distribution

Palearctic Écozone : Central Europe and Asia. In France meets in north of the the Loire and in the the Alps of North up to 1500 m of altitude.
