In Data-processing, a cord is a Structure of data which makes it possible to effectively handle very large sequences of characters. The concept was introduced into an article entitled Ropes: year Alternative to Strings .
A cord is primarily a binary Tree whose sheets are tables of characters. The Concaténation of two cords implies only the creation of a new node, whose two cords are the wire. The left under-tree represents the beginning of the chain, the right under-tree the end of the chain.
