Twin-tip
A twin-tip is a board used in certain water sports, such as the Wakeboard, or the Kitesurf. Its characteristic is to be symmetrical, i.e. that it has neither front, nor back. Before and the back of the board are twin (English twin).
This characteristic makes it possible to the practitioner to evolve/move in all the directions without worrying about the direction of the board, which is appreciated for the free style.
-
In Wakeboard, the board twin-tip is equipped with fit enclosing ankle of the practitioner, mounted on support plates.
- In Kitesurf, the practitioner is solidarized with the board by footstraps.
Characteristics
The twin-tip measure from 120 to 160 cm length, for approximately 40 cm broad on average. The twin-tip are equipped with four rather small ailerons (3 to 5 cm in height) under the hull. They are built out of glass fiber epoxy resin on heart of foam or wood, reinforced sometimes by fiber carbon or kevlar.
Invented by Jessie Durocher.
