Twelfth district of the Rhone delta

The twelfth district of the Rhone delta is represented in XIIe legislature by Eric Diard, appointed UMP and mayor of Sausset-the-Pines. Its substitute is Rene Gimet.

Geographical and demographic description

The twelfth district of the Rhone delta is located at the west of the town of Marseilles. Centered around the pond of Berre and the town of Marignane, it gathers a territory which strongly urbanized during the last decades. It gathers the cantons according to:

Canton of Châteauneuf-Coast-Blue
Canton of Marignane
Canton of Vitrolles

According to the general census of the population in 1999, the total population of this district is estimated at 151.625 inhabitants.
