Turtle-dove of wood
The Tourterelle of wood ( Streptopelia turtur ) is a Oiseau of the family of the Columbidae.
It is a migrating bird which one meets in all the moderate Europe of April-May at September-October.
As its name indicates it, this species prefers the open environments strewn with wood and thickets and avoids cities and villages.
It is a little smaller than the Turkish Tourterelle. Its back and its wings russet-red are marbled of black. It carries each side of the neck of the striped spots of black and white. The chest shoots at the pink.
