Turonien
The Turonien is a stratigraphic stage higher Crétacé. One locates it between -93,5 ± 0,8 and -89,3 ± 1,0 My, after the Cénomanien and before the Coniacien.
Stratotype
Turonien owes its name at the French city of Tours.Its biostratigraphic base is defined by the appearance of the Ammonite Watinoceras devonense . Its top corresponds to the appearance of the Bivalve Cremnoceramus rotundatus .
