Turned pink Casals
Rosemary “Turned pink” Casals , born on September 16th, 1948 in sport with San Francisco in California, is an American player of Tennis .
Active as of the beginnings of the Open era in 1968, it played more high level until the end of the Années 1980, being illustrated more particularly in the tests of double (more than eighty titles including nine in Grand Slam).
In 1970, with eight other players, the Original Nine , it took part in the creation of the very first professional circuit of autonomous female tennis (future WTA Tour). The September 23rd, it beat Billie Jean King finally at the time of the Tournoi of Houston, first test of this new circuit.
Into simple, it reached two consecutive finales with the US Open, in 1970 and 1971, respectively beaten by Margaret Smith Court and Billie Jean King.
Six times, it belonged to the victorious American team of the Coupe of the Federation finally, the first in 1967 and the last in 1981.
It is member of the International Tennis Hall off Famed since 1996.
