It is Paolo Bettini which gains this 100e edition of the Turn of Lombardy. A victory full with emotion since it intervenes two weeks only after the death of the older brother of the new world champion, who crosses the finishing line in tears by dedicating his victory to him.

Bettini carries an attack in the penultimate difficulty, with 16 kilometers of the arrival. It is followed by Fabian Wegmann, which it will finally release in the last difficulty of the day. Bettini resists then the return of Samuel Sanchez and gains for the second consecutive season this last race of the season.
