Turn Pooch (Newfoundland)

The turn Cabot was built in 1897 to commemorate the 400e birthday of discovered of Newfoundland by John Cabot. It is located at the top of the Signal Hill overhanging the town of St John' S. In 1901, Guglielmo Marconi accepted the first transatlantic signal wireless telegraphy close to this tower: it was the letter “S” in Morse code, sent since Cornwall in England.
