Turbo folk

The Turbo folk is a kind of music originating in the Balkans since 1991 similar to the music mani of Romania. It resembles the Western popular music except for the song of style " Arab ".

The name combines two concepts opposed, " turbo" with the image of modern industrial progress and 'folk" , symbol of the rural tradition and suspicieux conservatism against any innovation.

Sometimes associated with the Wars of Yugoslavia, it is popular today in all the countries of Balkans, mainly in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzégovine, Macedonia and Montenegro.
