Tupolev You-4
The Tupolev You-4 (designation NATO Bull ) is a Soviet bomber builds just after the end of the Second world war.
It is in fact a copy of the Boeing B-29 Superfortress American, carried out starting from three planes captured after an emergency landing in the USSR thanks to the Reverse engineering. After a first fine flight 1946, You-4 was officially presented at the time of an air procession on August 3rd 1947 and brought into service in 1949.
The appearance of You-4, who were made at the same time that first tests of the atomic weapon by the the USSR, caused large frights with American: these bombers were indeed the first with being able to reach big cities like Los Angeles, Chicago or New York with their bombs, even if they did not have sufficient autonomy to return.
You-4 would have been built with approximately 1 200 specimens, of which some sold with the China. You-4 Russian were converted into transport aircraft at the end of the years 1950 and were withdrawn definitively from the service to the beginning of the year 1960.
