Tupinambis teguixin

The Tupinambis teguixin , or Lagarto overo or Iguana will overa , is a lizard of the kind Tupinambis, family of the Teiidae. It can exceptionally reach an overall length of 1,5 meters, its most frequent size being one meter length.

Dispersion

Its geographical distribution is the Paraguay, the Uruguay, the Bolivia, the Brésil. In Argentine one finds it in the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, Between Ríos, Formosa, Chaco, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, the center and is of Córdoba as well as of the Pampa is.

Food

They are in fact omnivores and nourish fruits, plants, insects, arthropods, fish, frogs, rodents, birds, etc the youthful ones are rather insectivorous.

These lizards can be aggressive and must be handled with precaution. If your gestures make them believe that you threaten them, they can bite cruelly.
