Tumaco is a port city of Colombia located at the edge of the Pacific Ocean in the department of Nariño at a distance of 300 km by the road of Pasto.

It is in one of the most rainy areas of the world. Tumaco was devastated by a tidal wave (Tsunami) on December 12th, 1979.

The area of Tumaco is known for the archaeological discoveries relating to the Culture Tumaco it Tolita, one of oldest of the continent.
