Tulkarem or Toulkarem (in Arab: طولكرم - Ṭūlkarm; in Hebrew: טולכרם) is an Arab city of the West Bank located known edge of the Green line, at the narrowest place of the Israeli territory where 15 kilometers separate the Israeli coast from the occupied Palestinian Territoires.
The population is rather dense in the district of Tulkarem, and twice higher than those of Ramallah, Bethlehem or Hebron. The line of armistice of 1949 delimits the city on all its western part but did not prevent it from increasing its population.
