Tulipier of China
The tulipier of China ( Liriodendron chinense , of the Greek leiros , lily and dendron , tree) is a leafy tree of the family of the Magnoliacée S.
It is an indigenous species of the China central and southernmost develops in the provinces of Anhui, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Sichuan and Yunnan, and also locally in the North of the Vietnam.
It is very similar to the American species, the tulipier of Virginia (Liriodendron will tulipifera) from which it differs by the sheets slightly larger and with the lobes more marked as by the absence of orange spots at the base of the tepals. The tulipier of China reaches approximately 40 m height. He is not as robust as the American species, but is cultivated in England (in particular in the gardens of Kew), in Ireland, in Belgium, the Netherlands and in Germany. In North America, it develops in the North-East towards Boston, in the Massachusetts and in the North-West towards Vancouver. It is also announced in New Zealand.
