Tujia

The tujia 土家 is a language Tibéto-Burmese E spoken between the 湖北 Hubei, the 湖南 Hunan and the area of Chongqing 重庆. It are called themselves pi35 tsi55 kha21 . Two mutually inintelligibles dialects are counted. The distribution of Tujia before the sinicization of this area was to be more important. Toponymy suggests that this language was spoken about Chongqing 重庆 in Yichang 宜昌 on the course of the Chang Jiang. Some estimate that the language of the old kingdom of Ba 巴 of the time of the Royaumes combatants was the ancestor of current Tujia.
