The TUBE (OWL: Ordinary Wizardry Level, Level of sorcery ordinary, owl meaning English owl) indicates an imaginary school examination in the universe of Harry Potter . It is the abbreviation of “Universal Patent of Elementary Sorcery”.

They are the first important examinations passed through the pupils of Poudlard, at the end of the 5th year, although all the pupils pass from the general examinations each year. Their results are essential for the continuation of the studies, because it is them which determine the courses that the young wizards will be able to follow in 6th and 7th years.

The great following examinations, at the end of the 7th year, are the ASPIC.

In the TUBE, there has all the principal ones (present since the first year of study): the metamorphosis, potions, history of the magic, magic spells, botany, defense against the force of the evil, astronomy, as well as the courses in option such as: divination, the arithmancie,…

The notes being able to be allotted are as follows in the decreasing order: O (Optimal), E (Exceptional Effort), has (Acceptable), P (Poor), D (Afflicting) and T (Troll).
