Tubax
The Tubax is a new model of Saxophone double bass, developped at the point in 1999 by the German violin maker Benedikt Eppelsheim. Resuming work on the Borer and the Conicity of the tube, it obtained an instrument much smaller cuts some since bent 4 times, of an accuracy and a perfect ergonomics. This instrument, in conformity with the drawing of the patent of 1846 of Adolphe Sax, tends from now on to be essential and replace the rare models Evette and Orsi which had been manufactured on the basis of Saxophone lengthened baritone.
Virtuosity, the pallet of stamps and nuances, the handiness and… the size of this new instrument tend to impose it from now on near the musicians interested by the extremes of registers… Serge Bertocchi has a specimen of it, as well as CNSMD of Paris.
Let us note that in four years, Eppelsheim built nearly 40 tubax, whereas since its patent in 1846, the sax double bass had seen hatching only one about thirty models. The same applies to the repertory: each instrumentalist owner of a tubax seeming very active near the type-setters, and those strong interested parties by the instrument!
Among the first parts solo dedicated to Serge Bertocchi: " Black body convexe" of Marie-Helene Baker, " The sigh of the vache" of Pierre-Adrien Charpy, " No limits" of Robert Lemay, " Never wait to sweater has weed" of Vinny Golia, " Passion and warfare" of Andreas van Zoelen, " Mozazor" of Yochk' O Seffer.
