Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū

Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gū (鶴岡八幡宮) is the sanctuary most important Shinto of Kamakura to the Japan.

It was built in 1063 close to Yuigahama, and was dedicated to the Empereur Ojin.

Minamoto No Yoritomo, the founder of the Shogunat Kamakura, chooses this city in 1191 and made Hachiman, God of the war, his guard.
