Tsukasa Hōjō

Tsukasa Hōjō (), born the March 5th 1959 in Kokura (current town of Kitakyūshū), in the Prefecture of Fukuoka, is famous a author of Manga. He is the creator of Cat' S Eye , City Hunter , or Family Compo , among other series which marked the world of the Japanese manga.

Biography

In 1977, it integrates the Kyushu Industrial University .

In 1979, it takes part in the eighteenth contest of the Prix Tezuka organized by Shōnen Jump , re-examined leader of the publisher Shūeisha , and arrives second with the history Space angel .

In 1980, it begins as mangaka professional with the Cartoon I am a Man! (おれは男), published in an special issue of Shōnen Jump left in August.

In 1981, it publishes another history in the Shōnen Jump special of January, then begins Cat' S Eye in Jump , with a teaser with the number 29 pennies the name sexy dynamite girls (セクシー・ダイナマイト・ギャルズ, sekushī dainamaito gyaruzu ), the real publication starting in number 40. In 1983, Cat' S Eye will be adapted in animated series by the Tokyo Movie Shinshā . This series will last until number 44 of the year 1984.

In 1982, Hōjō publishes Space Angel in number 16 of Shōnen jump , but in a version altered compared to that presented to the Tezuka contest.

In 1983, a prototype of City Hunter , XYZ , is published in the Shōnen Jump n°18.

In 1985, City Hunter really begins in the Shōnen Jump n°13. In 1987, the studio Sunrise will decline it in an animated form which will last until in 1991. It is, after Cat' S Eye , the second large success of Tsukasa Hōjō, and that which truly will make known it internationally.

It has a strong friendly relation with Tetsuo Hara.

Among its old or current assistants are Haruto Umezawa and Takehiko Inoue.
