Tsang Tsou Choi

Tsang Tsou Choi (in Chinese: 曾灶財), known as the " King de Kowloon" (九龍皇帝; born on November 12th, 1921 in Liantang Village, in the province of Guangdong, in China; deceased on July 15th, 2007 with Hongkong) was known in Hongkong for its calligraphic graffiti.

Its art

Often regarded as insane and stopped by the police force, Tsang Tsou Choi used its " graffitis" to protest its territory through the streets of Hongkong, persuaded that the majority of the grounds of Kowloon belong to its ancestors. In his graffiti one often found the genealogical branch of his family as well as insults aiming at the Queen of England.

Hongkong Magazine elected it like one of the ten most influential personalities of Hongkong and many are the designers, realizers and artists recognizing his influence as well from the graphic point of view as typographical.
