Tsakhiagiyn Elbegdorj (in Mongolian ЦахиагийнЭлбэгдорж) (March 30th 1963, Zereg, province of Hovd -) is a Mongolian politician, old Prime Minister of the August 20th 2004 with the January 13rd 2006.
Elbegdorj follows studies of journalist in Ukraine, then with the the United States before returning to Mongolia and making career in policy. Petri by the democratic ideals étatsuniens, it takes part in the movement which seeks to put an end to the reign of the sole party (the communist party ). Elbegdorj is elected with the Grand Houral (Mongolian Parliament) in 1990 but resigns to protest against a scandal. It finds its seat in 1996 and becomes the chief of the national Parti democratic Mongolian. However, it cannot take part in the government, a law prohibiting with a member Parliament to return to the government. Once this law amended in 1998, Elbegdorj is named Prime Minister (March 1998) as a chief of the greatest party of the majority coalition democratic Union . It must present its resignation in December following a banking scandal.
Following the election members of Parliament of August 2004, the revolutionary Left the Mongolian people, old sole party, and the national Parti democratic Mongolian form a coalition of government and Elbegdorj becomes again Prime Minister the August 20th.
At the beginning of January 2006, PRPM decides to break the coalition with the capacity and withdraws the January 11th its 10 Ministers for the government of Elbegdorj. Elbegdorj avoids the motion of distrust of the Grand Houral , the Mongolian Parliament, by resigning the January 13rd. The general secretary of PRPM Miyeegombo Enkhbold succeeds to him the post of Prime Minister the January 24th.
