Tryptamine
The tryptamines form a group of natural substances Psychotrope S Hallucinogène S or of synthesis. One even finds them in many Plante S in certain animals. This family includes in particular: the Diméthyltryptamine (DMT), the Diéthyltryptamine, the Dipropyltryptamine, the 4-OH-DMT, the 5-OH-DMT, the Bufoténine, the 5-MeO-DMT.
The tryptamines act on the receivers with the Sérotonine of the central Nervous system. It is often they which give to the Plante S their interest for the Chamanisme; the American chemist Alexander Shulgin is known to have studied these effects.
Their chemical structure is of the type Indole, they belong to the indolalkylamines.
They are close to the Lysergic acid and LSD. They are connected with an Amino-acid , the Tryptophane.
