Trumpet thebaine
The Trumpet thebaine , also called right trumpet or heraldic trumpet , is a Musical instrument of the brass family used in the ceremonies or the concerts to reinforce or add solemnity to the event.
Process
To obtain a trumpet thebaine, it “is enough” “to unfold” a normal trumpet in If Bémol so that the airstream extends as much as possible by minimizing the length from the elbows. Very often, the Piston S are located more close to the mouth from the point of view to the airstream. They are seemingly further because of the fact that the trumpet is unfolded. The length thus gained makes it possible to move away a little more the house and to increase the distance seemingly. It measures approximately 1,20 meters length. Its play does not change compared to the “normal” trumpet but tiredness can feel more quickly because the length of the instrument. The mark Yamaha has just left the trumpets smaller thebaines, pompeuses but more playable still.
History
The first trumpets thebaines did not have any piston. It was thus a unfolded Clairon. But Verdi carried out Aïda with a model provided with a piston to reach all the notes of the triumphal walk of final of the second act. It has been for this time, Aïda being held with Thèbes, that these trumpets are called “thebaines”. Today, they comprise three pistons like their congeneric.
