True Crime: Streets off

True Crime: Street off the is a Video game developed by Luxoflux left on Xbox, PlayStation 2 and GameCube in 2003, and for Windows and Mac in 2004.

Gameplay

The player incarnates a Policier name of Nick Kang charged to bring back the calm one in the town of Los Angeles gangrénée by the Chinese triads and the Russian Maffia.

The scenario mode proposes a succession of varied tests to you energy of the infiltration, with the shooting, while passing by the combat with naked hands and the track race. Between the missions, it is possible to be trotted in the city and to solve secondary crimes of street. There are several crimes of street (Prise hostages, Viol, Track race, Bagarre etc). It is to the player to solve them according to his desire. The way in which you will carry out a mission (like a correct cop or bad cop), and if you complete or not the tasks which are assigned to you, influences the continuation of the history.

Shooting

In True Crime , the player is confronted with good numbers of shootings vis-a-vis enemies armed to the teeth.

To defend oneself, Nick Kang has two guns (which can evolve/move) with ammunition unlimited. He can also seize weapons of his adversaries once those dead or taken in human Bouclier. The firearms can be a simple automatic pistol, a Magnum 44, a Uzi, a pump rifle, a Kalashnikov and even a lance-grenade!

The player cannot carry that two weapons at the same time (one in each hand) what confers a frightening firepower although improbable (a Kalashnikov in a hand and a lance grenade in the other).

The shooting of precision makes it possible to the player to suspend time (Bullet time) one moment and to aim more precisely.

The side jumps make it possible to draw by still using the Bullet time, that makes it possible to take the advantage on a group of enemies.

During the shootings, it is possible to seize of an enemy as a human shield in order to protect itself.

Fights with naked hands

The phases of brawl are at least as numerous as those of shooting, but those are more technical.

Secrecies

The player evolves/moves freely in the town of Los Angeles reconstituted more or less well and can make use of vehicles, start brawls or shootings or seek secrecies as in Grand Theft Auto.

The track races in reconstituted cities can be connected with those of the series Driver.

The phases of shootings point out max Payne with the effect of Bullet time but the rate/rhythm of True Crime is more unrestrained.

One following summer realized and left in September 2005, it take again the basic principle of True Crime: streets off the but gives up the ideas which however made the success of this play. This continuation proceeds in the town of New York and the player incarnates again a police officer, name of Marcus Reed. This continuation bears the name of True Crime: New York City .

Anecdotes

On promotional images of the play one can see Nick Kang driving a motor bike, it however does not have of them there only one in the play
