Signed truce the March 23rd 1357 for one one year duration.

During negotiations which led to the truce of Bordeaux a draft treaty was written: against the payment of a ransom the Prince Noir agreed to release the king Jean II of France which it held captive since the Bataille of Poitiers (September 19th 1356). But the contrary orders of Edouard III of England obliged Prince Noir to give up this negotiation and it was in the obligation to lead the royal prisoners in England.
