Trouville-on-Sea

Trouville-on-Sea is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.

It is with the mouth of the Touques, on its Right Bank, opposite Deauville. This old village of fishermen is a tourist destination appraisal of the Normandy. Its name would come from Thor. Its inhabitants is called the Trouvillais and the Trouvillaises .

It should not be confused with Trouville (Seine-Maritime).

Geography

History

The history of Trouville goes back to the Moyen-âge. The city was not whereas a small port of fishing.

The rise of the city began at the 19th century with the fashion from the sea bathings.

Until 1926, Trouville-on-Sea and its canton were attached to old the Arrondissement of Pont-l'Ev4eque cheese , removed on this occasion and ever reconstituted.

Economy

Tourism is the economic main activity of the city. Trouville also preserves a small activity of fishing.

Tourism

Trouville is a very appreciated seaside resort, and in particular of Parisian for its proximity (approximately two hours of road or train). Its beautiful beach of fine Sable is one of its principal attractions.
