Trout
The trout is the common noun given to species of Poisson S of fresh water belonging to the family of the Saumon S ( salmonidé S ).
The trouts live in waters running, one finds them mainly in North America, Europe and in the north of the Asia. They were also introduced in Australia and New Zealand at the 19th century. According to the species, the lifespan can vary 7 years to several tens of years. Certain individuals reach about thirty kilograms.
The trouts do not have spines in the fins, and they have all a small fat fin with the back, near to the tail, which is a characteristic common to all the salmonidé S.
Although the majority of trouts live exclusively out of fresh water, certain species ( Oncorhynchus mykiss and Salmo trutta fario in particular) present specimens which pass their adult life in the ocean and go up the rivers to reproduce, to the example of salmons.
The trouts are carnivorous. They nourish mainly worms and insects, but the most imposing species and specimens also drive out other fish.
Gustatory qualities of trout are largely recognized. The fishing of trout can be also practiced like a sport, in particular with the practice of the No-kill.
Fertilized eggs are placed on artificial Frayère S, and alevins are raised and slackened in the rivers, to take part in the repopulation of mediums degraded, threatened or overexploited. Nevertheless, it is necessary to underline which if these practices are desirable and beneficial when they are species autochtones, they does not contribute to the natural selection, can pose problems of genetic diversity and is harmful when it is a question of introducing exogenic species, or fish likely to be abnormally carrying diseases or parasites.
For example, in France:
- the introduction of the Rainbow trout, often to answer a short-term management of the fishing resource, in the long term causes the disappearance of the Truite fario with which it enters in food competition.
- the massive and repetitive introduction of trouts farios of “Atlantic” stock (generally coming from Danish breedings) is the cause of the quasi disappearance of the trout fario of “Mediterranean” stock because of the “Pollution” genetic due to the interbreeding . Primarily let us note that rare groups remained genetically “pure” , in the rivers Corsica S.
