Troubadour (Los Angeles)

The Troubadour is a Nightclub of West Hollywood, in California, located at the 9081 Santa Monica Boulevard, at the East of Doheny Drive and in edge of Beverly Hills.

Presentation

The club opened its doors in 1957. It is essential as of the Années 1960 like one of the principal centers of the Musique folk then Rock, attracting number of song writers and performers.

Artists

The Troubadour played a big role in the career of Neil Diamond among other artists, attending the place to sit their fame. The August 25th 1970, Neil Diamond presented Elton John to the American public, come to the Troubadour to give his first representation to the the United States.

In 1974, John Lennon and its friend Harry Nilsson, in a state of intoxication, were put at the door to have disturbed the representation of Smothers Brothers.

On the long list of the artists come to occur with the Troubadour are reproduced the names of Bob Dylan, Arlo Guthrie, Damien Rice, Lenny Bruce, James Taylor, Bette Midler, Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow, George Carlin, Tom Waits and well of others.

The Troubadour programmed music New Wave and punk between the end of the Années 1970 and the beginning of the Années 1980, before passing to the heavy metal with groups such as Mötley Crüe, Pink Guns and W.A.S.P. in the years 1980 and 1990. It is to the Troubadour besides that Guns Pink did not give their first concert.

The Troubadour nowadays remains one of the clubs more for “live” music with L.A.
