Tropicana (casino)

Tropicana is a Hôtel - casino of Las Vegas. It is located beside MGM Grand Las Vegas, at the end of the strip.

The hotel counts 1.871 rooms, the casino has a surface of 5.667 square meters.

history

The principal tower of the hotel (Island Tower) was built in 1957. Paradise Tower, the second tower, was built in 1979. After its construction, the hotel gave its name to the street which crosses the Strip (Las Vegas): Tropicana Avenue.

In March 2006, Azatar corporation, the current owner of Tropicana repurchased the hotel in Columbia Sussex (former owner) for 2.75 Billion dollars. The commission of the Plays of Nevada approved this acquisition on November 17th, 2006.

November 2nd, 2006, Comlumbia Sussex announced 2 Billion dollars for the restoration of Tropicana. Island Tower and Paradise Tower would receive interior restorations as well as external. Moreover 4 turns would be built, and Cente ded convention of Tropicana would be increases: what would do of it one of larger of Las Vegas after the Las Vegas Convention Center, Sands Expo and Convention Center, Mandalay Bay Convention Center and future the Level Place Center Convention (future project to replace the Stardust (casino)
