Tropicalism
The tropicalism or tropicalia is a cultural movement appeared in Brazil in 1967. Its appearance makes following the coup d'etat of 1964, at the origin of the military dictatorship. This current synthesized various sound currents and launched the idea of a universal music. The tropicalists disputed the Nationalisme and the Brazilian popular music of the time. They adapted the Psychédélisme and the current Hippie to Brazilian reality.
They also signed a proclamation by an album of the name of tropicalia . In 1992, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil recorded a disc birthday, which bears the name of tropicali2 .
