Trophy plus-moins of the LNH

The Plus-Moins trophy of the National league of hockey (in English: NHL More-Washout Award ) is a trophy annually given to the player of Hockey of the LNH in North America which has the best ratio + over the regular season.

The ratio + of a player is calculated by counting +1 if the player is on the ice at the time when its team marks a goal without being in numerical superiority, and -1 if it is on the ice at the time when its team boxes a goal without being in numerical inferiority.

The trophy was given for the first time in 1983 under the name of trophy Emery Edge (anlgais Emery Edge Award of it), Emery Edge being then the sponsor. The various names carried by the trophy are the following:

  • 1983 with 1988: Trophy Emery Edge
  • 1988-89 No name formalized
  • 1989-90 with 1995-96: Trophy Plus Alka-Seltzer ( Alka-Seltzer Plus Award )
  • 1996-97 with 1997-98: Trophy Plus-Moins Bud Ice ( Bud Ice More-Washout Award )
  • Since 1998-99: Trophy Plus-Moins Bud Light ( Bud Light More-Washout Award )
