Trophy Prince de Galles

The Trophée Prince de Galles ( Prince off Wales Trophy ) is the trophy which generally changed definition during the history.

  • In the beginning (of 1923-24 with 1926-27), the trophy was given to the champion of the National league of hockey in regular season.

  • Of 1927-28 with 1937-38, it was given to the team which finished first in American division.

  • Of 1938-39 with 1966-67, one took again the definition of origin of the trophy while giving it to the champion team of the regular season.

  • Of 1967-68 with 1973-74, the trophy was given to the champion team of division Is LNH in regular season.

  • Of 1974-75 with 1980-81, the trophy was given to the champion team for the regular season of the Broken check Conference.

  • Of 1981-82 with 1992-93, the trophy was given to the team gaining the final of the Broken check Conference lasting the eliminatory series.

  • Since 1993-94, the trophy is given to the team gaining the final of the Conference of the East lasting the eliminatory series.

History

The Trophy draws its name from the grandfather of Prince de current Galles (Charles) and lets imply that one speaks about the royal family Britannique.
