Biography

Trophime Bigot is born in Arles in 1579 where it receives his artistic formation. Between 1620 and 1634, it passes from many years in Italy in particular to Rome. One finds it in Arles in 1634 where it carries out the tables a Saint Laurent condemned to the torment and a Assomption of the Virgin for local churches. Owner in the Camargue, it made there exploit some goods. Of 1638 with 1642, it lives with Aix-en-Provence where it paints another Assomption of the Virgin . It returns then to Arles and division on this date its activities between its birthplace and Avignon where it dies in 1650.

Works

It is often described as Maître to the candle because of its many tables bathed by this lighting whose style brings it closer to Georges of the Tower. However forty works scattered in the many museums which to him is allotted it are not in an unquestionable way.
